Bill is an experienced employment law expert whose practice covers the whole range of human resources and employment law issues. His focus is always on delivering sensible, pragmatic advice in a clear, concise manner which addresses his clients’ key needs. This enables his clients proactively to avoid costly pitfalls and to maximise their negotiating position in contentious situations.

Bill has built up a strong following of senior executive clients who value his judgement and his ability to get straight to the nub of HR issues. His individual clients come from all sectors but he has particular expertise in the banking, insurance, financial services and media sectors, where he has acted for CEO’s, CFO’s and senior banking professionals on very high value contract and exit negotiations.

He also advises employer clients of all sizes across all sectors from recruitment agencies to recording studios, property companies and NHS trusts to charitable organisations and professional services firms.

Bill has specialist experience in advising clients on contractual issues including the protection of confidential information, the enforcement of restrictive covenants and team moves. He has in-depth knowledge and experience of the inter-dealer broker field having spent time on secondment at BGC. He also has expertise in the particular employment law issues arising in the financial sector and advising clients on the FCA regulatory framework.

Bill’s workload includes advising clients on the effective conduct of employment tribunal litigation – from simple unfair dismissal claims to complex discrimination and whistle-blowing claims. He acts for both claimants and respondents and has been involved in a number of high value and high profile claims and cases where reputation management has been of key significance.

Bill is also an expert on the TUPE regulations and has advised clients across all sectors on the application of the regulations to business transfers, outsourcings and service provision changes and has particular experience of advising property managers, hotel operators and public sector employers in this area.
